The project involved the installation of a new main distribution board situated in the Outbound Baggage (OB) area of the MTB:
Design, supply and installation of the new main distribution panel in the OB area of the main terminal.
Supply and Installation of two x 95mm SWA supply cables from UKPN substation, to feed the new OBB Main Distribution Panel.
Supply and installation of two x 70mm cables to refeed G5 switch room.
Supply and installation of two x 70mm cables to refeed F5 switch room.
The new supply cables were installed throughout the Main Terminal Building by BPI’s nightshift workforce, in preparation for the changeover. There was no disruption to normal Airport operations during this work.
The new LV supplies to the switch rooms G5 and F5 were transferred when the Airport was closed, over 2 weekends and the transfer was successful within these Airport closures.
The programmed works were completed within a tight timeframe and on budget.
