Working closely with the Airfield Safety & Operations Team and Ramp Services, we redesigned the existing services to suit the upgraded system. These works included new LV distribution panels and specialist pit equipment set within the ramp zone of the airfield. This system was installed to meet new plane requirements due to the expansion of the airport.
As part of the project, we were asked to go out to the market to find a specialist supplier to supply all elements of the new installation including the mobile tug chargers and switch control panels.
The new design saw replacement control and power cabling installed through existing ducts from the new FEGP panel location to the new pit locations.
The new airplane stand positions were incompatible with the existing pit locations. As Principle contractor of this project, we also managed the cutting and ducting of the new pit locations, which were carried out by Tarmac.
The project was completed on time and on budget, and as part of this project we now manage the monthly maintenance programme for the FEGP system for the Airport’s FM department.
