Services

Our Services

We offer a multi-discipline, construction service delivering electrical, mechanical and fit out services; a one-stop construction solution.

Electrical

The core work of BP Installations is electrical contracting. We have been working in the commercial field for over 18 years and have a wealth of experienced Project Managers and site teams. Working in:

  • Aviation
  • Retail
  • Commercial fit-out
  • Industrial
  • Rail – High Street Sector

We are able to supply all forms of electrical services including:

  • Specialist Lighting and Power Systems
  • Security Systems
  • CCTV
  • Fire Alarm Systems

In addition to our installation services we can supply:

  • Periodic Testing
  • Surveying
  • Design Works.

All of the above can be managed as individual projects or as a combined service within a principal contractor role either directly for the client or as part of a team working with the main contractor.

Mechanical

Having worked in the aviation and rail industries for many years we are able to offer mechanical installation works to complement our electrical services capability. We have an established supply chain that allows us to offer the highest level of quality and reliability.

Our joint service approach reduces risk to the client or the main contractor and allows a collaborative approach to project delivery.

Fit Out

After many years of working in the construction industry, it was only natural that we would offer our clients a full turn-key project solution as we understand that some clients prefer that a project is managed by one company as this reduces their risk and allows for a closer integration of all the trades.

Our ability to assist in the design and programming of the M&E requirements within a full fit-out project gives us the ability to understand any issues that might arise from M&E service moves; this gives us an added advantage and enables us to give the client more foresight into potential risks and logistical problems that may arise from the M&E side of the fit-out.

This additional bespoke service was a key factor in allowing us to secure the Eurostar Fit-Out project that we carried out in 2014. This project required considerable planning and programming for all of the M&E service moves to enable the fit-out works to run more smoothly within the project.

Principal Contractor Role

Since the CDM Regulations were updated in 2015, BP Installations have carried out the role of Principal Contractor for the majority of our projects. Our in-house project teams are experienced at delivering projects for our Clients in coordination with other Duty Holders such as Principal Designers, Designers and appointed Contractors.

As a Principal Contractor, we have the competency and capacity to provide a flexible approach to projects – from Managing the works from the first day through to ensuring that all the requirements of the CDM Regulations are met and establishing such things as ensuring that a Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan that is relevant and proportional to the works being carried out.

In addition, we will oversee:

  • Implementation and monitoring of any mitigation control measures
  • Provide adequate welfare facilities
  • Select competent personnel
  • Provide key safety information via an induction
  • Establish site security measures

Our Project Teams are also experienced in working alongside other Principal Contractors when tasked to just manage the Health & Safety and logistical side of a project.

At BP Installations, we are very proud of our safety record and through the attitudes of both the management team and the positive outlook of those working on our behalf on projects, we have completed over 500,000 working hours without a reportable incident or accident.

Design

BP Installations has found from experience the earlier an installer is involved with the design, the quicker the design can be completed without too many design changes.

As a company, we have a very versatile design team that is able to engage with the client or main designers to assist in the design process. We have worked alongside many major design companies such as Pascal & Watson, Atkins, Waterman, RSHP and ARUP.

We also carry our own PI allowing us to take on design or to sub-contract design to our various design companies.

Surveys

It would be extremely hard work to carry out a survey or inspection without the understanding and processes required to make it a safe and manageable workplace. At BP Installations we pride ourselves on our experience in dealing with those issues smoothly and efficiently. Working in a high-security airport requires a high level of communication that needs to encompass all of the clients’ departments and their external partners. We are specialists in surveying and electrical testing within these kinds of high-level security environments.

Communication is paramount to success. From the initial contact, through the planning of the project, to the end of the implementation, it is vital that we have an understanding of all details including access, the subject of the survey or isolation, and all risk factors. Continuous communication with the client on these matters will help to make the works successful.

Years of experience and development has allowed us to produce and update our systems as technology changes, so we are always up-to-date. Our use of drawing references, photo identification and detailed descriptions are fully comprehensive, and enable our surveys to range from visual non-intrusive to a fully intrusive shut down. Our survey documentation can be made bespoke to suit our clients’ requirements.

Our designated testing and survey department is able to carry out one-off inspections or annual inspections including periodic testing of electrical services.
